PATIENT NOTICES - Information during COVID-19 pandemic to protect staff and patients

Due to COVID-19 the practice has removed online booking so that all appointments are triaged prior to being made. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.

Telephone consultations are now the only appointment system in place and you may be invited to have a video consultation which requires your consent before commencing. Should the doctor deem it necessary to be seen face to face, they will invite you as appropriate following being qualified for COVID questions.

Specimen samples are still being taken at the practice but only if having been directed by a clinician to provide a sample with the given covering paperwork.  All samples (urine/stools/sputum etc.) must be received before 12 noon in readiness of laboratory courier collection; your sample will be refused after this time as it will not be kept overnight at the surgery. Should you suspect a urine infection please do not simply turn up at the practice providing a urine sample, this will be declined; a consultation with the nurse/GP is required first to discuss your symptoms and they will advice if a sample needs to be provided and will produce the relevant paperwork to support.

All prescriptions are now being sent electronically to your nominated pharmacy (EPS). Please ensure you nominate an appropriate pharmacy for prescription collection or delivery.*

We suggest that you obtain your online access for ordering of prescriptions. Please use either Patient Access or download the NHS App. To obtain a password and linkage key, your ID is required, again please contact reception as to how we can obtain this without you needing to present at the surgery.

*We need to bring to patient attention when selecting a nominated pharmacy to have their scripts delivered by post, that they are doing so with the understanding that postage presently may take longer!

Also, to be aware that if having any urgent medication such as antibiotics as an example, that you request the doctor issuing the medication does so to an alternative pharmacy and not a nominated one that only posts your medications as this will sufficiently delay receiving any urgent medication required.

We would like to thank you for your support and co-operation in completing the test.

The results of our Friends and Family Test continue to be reviewed on a monthly basis. We are very thankful to our loyal patients who are submitting a positive response of extremely likely to recommend the practice to friends and family. Any comments whether as positive or negative feedback are reviewed at our Patient Participation Group meetings.

Taking your medication into countries when travelling abroad

For information about taking your medication into countries when travelling abroad, please check the consulate website of the country travelling into; please do not waste a GP appointment as they are unable to advise you what drugs are allowed. Evidence of your medication is not accepted if the drug is prohibited.
